Terms of service

Effective September 23, 2026

These terms govern your use of Schematic Platform and the Pup service provided by Schematic Research, Inc. (“Schematic,” “we,” or “us”). By creating an account or using the service after being presented with these terms, you agree to them. If you use the service for an organization, you must be authorized to agree on its behalf. A separate signed agreement governs to the extent it expressly replaces or conflicts with these terms.

The service

Access to the service is by invitation. The platform provides account access, API-key management, and usage information for Pup. Pup accepts submitted source and supertest declarations, performs checks, and provides results, evidence, explanations, and, where available, proposed changes. Your use of the service is subject to any usage limits stated in your agreement with us.

Your account and keys

You must be legally able to enter this agreement and provide accurate account information. Keep your Google account and API keys secure, share keys only with people or systems you authorize, and revoke keys that are no longer needed. Notify us promptly of suspected misuse. You are responsible for activity you authorize through your account; this does not make you responsible for failures attributable to our own security obligations.

Your content and permission to process it

You retain your rights in source code, declarations, and other material you submit. You give Schematic permission to host, copy, transmit, analyze, and otherwise process that material to provide, secure, and support the requested service, including processing through service and AI providers. This permission is limited to those purposes and does not transfer ownership of your repositories to us.

You must have the rights and permissions needed to submit the material and to authorize that processing. Do not submit unnecessary credentials or personal information. Tell us before submitting information that requires a specific processing location, provider restriction, or separate data-processing agreement. Our privacy policy explains the service’s data handling.

We do not publish your private submitted material as part of operating the platform. Access by personnel and providers is limited to service, security, support, and legal needs. This does not prevent a disclosure required by law or one you separately authorize.

Results and independent evaluation

A result applies to the particular source, declarations, assumptions, and scope of the check. It is not a general assurance that all behavior of a program is correct, secure, or suitable for every use. Explanations and proposed changes can contain errors. Review the result and its evidence, and test proposed changes before using them in a consequential or production setting.

The service assists your work and does not replace independent professional or engineering judgment. You must not rely on the service or its results as the sole basis for development, deployment, security, or other consequential decisions. You are responsible for independently evaluating results, validating changes, maintaining appropriate backups, and making contingency arrangements for interruptions or loss of access. Except as expressly agreed in a separate agreement, you must not rely on the continued availability of the service or any particular feature.

We do not claim ownership of your source or prevent you from using and exporting the results provided for your work. Third-party rights, open-source licenses, and any restrictions in your separate service agreement continue to apply. You remain responsible for deciding whether a result or change is appropriate for your application.

Acceptable use

Use the service lawfully and within your authorization. Do not attempt to access another customer’s material, bypass authentication or stated limits, compromise or overload the service, distribute malicious code for purposes unrelated to authorized analysis, or submit material that infringes another person’s rights. Contact us to coordinate security testing of the Schematic service itself.

Usage, fees, and availability

Any fees, quotas, subscription period, or additional service commitments must be stated in your order or another agreement with you. Creating an account does not authorize undisclosed charges.

We may maintain and update the service. We will provide reasonable notice of planned changes that materially affect your use where practicable, and any paid-service commitments in your agreement remain applicable. Availability can be affected by maintenance, network failures, or provider outages.

Account access, suspension, and termination

Accounts and access to the service are granted and maintained at Schematic’s sole discretion. An invitation or account does not confer a right to continued access. Subject to applicable law and any separate agreement with you, we may refuse, restrict, suspend, or terminate an account, API key, or access to all or part of the service at any time, with or without cause and with or without prior notice. We will provide any notice, refund, or other remedy required by applicable law or a separate agreement.

You can stop using the service, revoke your keys, and request account closure at support@schematic.tech. Closure, export, and deletion requests are handled as described in our privacy policy and any separate agreement. Stopping use does not cancel obligations already incurred under an agreed paid order.

On termination, your authorization to access the affected service ends. Termination does not affect accrued rights or obligations. Provisions concerning ownership, permitted handling of submitted material, warranty disclaimers, and other provisions that by their nature should survive termination remain in effect, subject to their stated limits and applicable law.

Disclaimer of warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, and except for our express commitments in these terms or a separate agreement, the service and all related software, content, results, explanations, and proposed changes are provided “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE,” without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory. We disclaim all such warranties, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement, and warranties arising from a course of dealing, course of performance, or usage of trade.

Subject to those same limits, we do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free; that it will meet your requirements; that results or other material will be accurate, complete, or reliable; that every defect or vulnerability will be identified; or that any error will be corrected. No oral or written advice or information obtained from Schematic or through the service creates a warranty beyond our express contractual commitments or rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Your legal rights

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts, or modifies a guarantee, remedy, liability, or other right that cannot lawfully be excluded, including rights under the Australian Consumer Law where it applies. These terms do not require you to waive applicable consumer protections or bring a complaint in an exclusive foreign forum.

Changes and contact

We may update these terms with a revised effective date. We will provide reasonable advance notice of material changes through the website or platform where practicable, and obtain agreement where required by law. Changes will not retroactively remove accrued rights. If you do not agree to a material change, you may stop using the service and contact us about closing your account, subject to any existing agreement.
